How do I calculate a percentage of a number?▼
Divide the percentage by 100 and multiply by the number. 15% of 120 is 0.15 × 120 = 18. Use the first card and the answer updates as you type.
How do I calculate percentage increase or decrease?▼
Subtract the old value from the new one, divide by the old value and multiply by 100. From 50 to 75 is +50%, and from 80 to 60 is −25%. The third card does this for you.
What is the difference between margin and markup?▼
Margin is profit divided by the selling price. Markup is profit divided by cost. A product costing $40 and selling for $100 has a 60% margin but a 150% markup.
Why does it say Undefined?▼
Some questions have no answer: a number cannot be expressed as a percentage of 0, and a percentage change from 0 would be infinite. The calculator says so instead of showing a misleading 0%.
Is my data sent to a server?▼
